Historical United Nations Security Council (HUNSC)

The Security Council takes the lead in determining the existence of a threat to the peace or act of aggression. It calls upon the parties to a dispute to settle it by peaceful means and recommends methods of adjustment or terms of settlement. In some cases, the Security Council can resort to imposing sanctions or even authorize the use of force to maintain or restore international peace and security.

Topic 1: Soviet-Afghan War

Its 1978. Afghan president Sardar Muhammad Daud Khan has been overthrown and in more recent news- assassinated. A pro-Soviet Communist government under Noor Mohammed Taraki has been established but things dont look so good. Years are passing by and disagreements are coming to fruition- there’s more blood, more coups, more fighting.

Who is to win this bloody ideological battle between the Soviet superpower and oppressed Afghanistan?

Topic 2: Middle Eastern Conflicts

If one ideological battle wasn’t good enough, there is yet another problem to me addressed in the Middle East. With Saddam Hussein declaring himself the supreme leader of Iraq and antagonising all Kurds and Shi’as. Tensions in the Middle Eastern community as rising- with oil wars being waged and physical battles being fought. Who will win this religious-secular; Shia-Sunni; Communist-non-Communist battle?
